DCAT Takeaways

KYBORA’s Key Takeaways from DCAT 2026

  • Priority on Supply Chain: 2025 saw a significant uptick in the number of FDA Warning Letters and what had been a push for on-shoring of pharma manufacturing on the back of Covid has seemed to shift to a mentality of “quality, wherever” as companies prioritize continuity of supply above cost and politics.
  • Simplifying and Streamlining: Many companies have initiated or planned upcoming divestitures of non-core, deprioritized business units. Focus on higher margin and higher utilization of resources is driving the sale of less exciting assets that are not central to future growth. In certain processes, we’re seeing companies openly communicate deal surety and timeliness over trying to maximize value through robust, drawn-out processes.
  • Scaling through Differentiated Asset Acquisitions: In efforts to grow through M&A, it is no surprise to see companies seeking durable assets with competitive barriers. Products with promotional sensitivity that are sold through specialty channels are on the radar of companies that traditionally have had more of a heritage in generic pharma. As an example, Sun’s potential acquisition of Organon was a focus of dealmaking chatter during DCAT week – and more M&A of this profile is expected.
